How to Target your Message on Twitter and Facebook

You may already know how to target your message on Facebook and Twitter.The power of targeting marketing is very important in getting your message across to the masses. You don't want to sell music cds to a deaf person. You don't want to sell videos to a blind person you want to sell those videos to the deaf person and get those cds to the blind.  I see lots of internet marketers who do an all out campaign and just spreading a message everywhere and usually it doesn't bring back much if any fruit. Typically these shoot everywhere campaigns require much more work to get anything out of them and will piss of certain groups if it is an unrelated message.

The next time you write an article or want to share your website on facebook

use the search box above!  What is your article about? I will use an example 

"Dogs" I wrote an article on dogs yesterday. I typed in dogs in search on facebook

then i go to bottom and click see more results.. Then i click on groups can 

you believe i found groups over five hundred thousand or more? So i 

targeted dog lovers with a dog message this will be more receptive then sharing 

blindly to the masses on facebook.

You can use a similar strategy on twitter by typing in the search box Dog

you will see all the twitter users that are talking about dogs.  Then you 

can tweet out to the them @dogman check out my #dog article dogman.

Notice i put a hashtag in front of dog so anyone that does a search with

dog will see my message giving me even more click throughs. You got 

to be careful with twitter with the direct messages and make like 5 different 

messages so you can spread out and it wont look like you are spamming the system.

This goes without saying if your not finding groups that match your message then it might be better to fine tune your message to bigger groups that you can market too.  Offer to give out some free information or tool for clicking on your link.  If you can give something helpful away for free you are more likely to have a higher response rate and develop contacts you can work with in the future.

If you get back a response to your message in a group respond back quickly with a follow post and or direct message.  This can inspire others in the group to also leave comments which will then make your post a popular subject.  Then you might have just made a new friend or contact. This is a hot lead.. Send them a friend request on facebook or follow them back on twitter.  The more people you can connect with that respond to your messages the better.
